Personal Background

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Los Angeles area. I provide therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults in-person and online.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky, magna cum laude, in Psychology. I went on to attend California Polytechnic University, Pomona for my Master of Science in Psychology. I have worked in various settings including the schools, treatment centers, and private practice.

Through these settings, I have worked with adolescents and young adults that are on the spectrum, experiencing a wide range of comorbid mental health difficulties. I utilize a client-centered approach and pull skills from cognitive-behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy. I am able to develop rapport that makes my clients feel safe and understood. After this therapeutic relationship is developed, we are able to work towards goals that are set. Being PEERS certified assists in better communicating with my adolescents. Adolescents may have the ability to sit and talk about their difficulties, but through my experience, much more is gained from therapy when a client is enjoying sessions.

Personal Interests

Developing and utilizing coping skills and self-care are an important part of bettering overall mental health. Following that old attige, “practice what you preach,” I regularly engage in self-care and coping skills for my mental health. In my personal life, I am relatively active, I snowboard, wakeboard, and enjoy traveling. Through my travels, I have been able to experience how others live, and identify and establish morals and values that help me through my career. I also though love watching movies and lounging the day away. Moderation is key in my life.
